Facebook, Pandora challenge mobile-ad networks' dominance

Facebook, Twitter, Pandora and The Weather Channel collectively grabbed a 52% share of the U.S. mobile-ad business in 2012, compared with 39% a year earlier, according to a new IDC report. Facebook had mobile revenues of $234 million, putting the social giant within shouting distance of Google's market-leading $243 million haul and suggesting that brands are making a fundamental shift away from the major ad networks.
