Freezing spring wasn't all bad for U.K. retailers

Same-store sales for U.K. retailer Dunelm rose 5.2% in the first quarter, as snow and record colds in March drove higher sales of duvet covers and other home goods. Cold weather also spurred sales of car maintenance supplies, snow chains and shovels at Halfords, offsetting the drop in demand for bicycles and outdoor goods, the retailer said.
