Intel touts quad-core "Bay Trail" processors for Windows 8 tablets

Intel's quad-core Atom "Bay Trail" processors are expected to show up in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 tablet computers this year. Intel's Tan Weng Kuan said Tuesday at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing that an "entirely new Atom microarchitecture...will [enable] the most powerful Atom processor to date, doubling the computing performance of Intel's current-generation tablet offering."
