J.C. Penney has Sergio Zyman searching for a new shop, sources say

J.C. Penney has followed CEO Ron Johnson's ouster by putting former Coca-Cola executive Sergio Zyman in charge of marketing, writes Natalie Zmuda. Zyman, known for his role in the New Coke debacle, apparently started talking to other agencies even before Johnson had been relieved of his duties. He "is keen to work with a big, integrated agency that can serve as a one-stop shop," Zmuda writes. The Bureau, which created Penney's Oscar ad, is ending its relationship with the retailer in May and is not a candidate, according to one of its creatives.
