Military's next generation of fighter planes may self-heal

The U.S. military's sixth generation of combat aircraft may go well beyond even the stealth and other features of the services' fifth generation F-35 Lightnings and F-22 Raptors. Among the capabilities proposed by contractors Boeing and Lockheed Martin are planes with even more advanced stealth capabilities and self-healing skins using a self-deploying and hardening putty. The question now is whether the money will be available.
