North Africa medtech market stabilizes

As the political climate in Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Libya stabilizes, the opportunity for growth in the medical technology sector will increase, according to Ed Rozynski, a senior adviser at the Medical Device Manufacturers Association. Egypt relies heavily on imports and has the lowest per capita health care spending of the North African nations, Rozynski said, with Libya having the highest per capita health care spending. Egypt has the region's biggest medtech market, followed by Algeria and Morocco.
