Potatoes can be part of a diabetes diet, dietician says

Potatoes and sweet potatoes are full of nutrients and can easily be included in a diabetes meal plan, registered dietitian Cheryl Winter writes. People with diabetes will need to fit potatoes into their carbohydrate allowance and should avoid adding fattening toppings, but Winter writes that potatoes provide important complex carbohydrates for energy.
