Students design car that could cross the country on a gallon of gas

As part of the Shell Eco-marathon Americas competition, high-school and college students were challenged to develop innovations in energy efficiency. One of this year's winners was a 3,587 mpg car built by student engineers at Quebec's Université Laval.
