Native and Web-based HTML5 applications have their advantages and disadvantages, Chantal Tode writes. Native applications are promoted in app stores, with an icon on the homepage, for an awareness advantage, whereas Web-based apps boast a greater reach that's attractive to advertisers. "HTML 5 apps offer a significant advantage when it comes to advertising because they are more easily accessible from a QR code ... in a banner ad, on print ads and billboards that links directly to an HTML5 app," Tode writes.
