Nasdaq in talks to acquire Philadelphia Stock Exchange

Looking to boost its presence in options trading, Nasdaq Stock Market is in discussions to buy the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, according to people familiar with the situation. The Philadelphia exchange has been approached by other markets as well. Robert Greifeld, the Nasdaq CEO, has plans to start trading options later this year, and buying the third-largest options exchange in the U.S. would give Nasdaq a leg up.
