Honeywell technology produces propane-derived plastic raw material

Honeywell's UOP unit is marketing a system that turns propane into propylene in an effort to grab a share of the growing shale-drilling industry while helping offset the shortage in propylene production among oil refineries. The technology is being sold to companies including Dow Chemical that produce propylene for use as an ingredient in plastics.
