A new book and a documentary describe two patients' struggles living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Susan Spencer-Wendel, the author of "Until I Say Goodbye: My Year of Living With Joy," decided to travel as much as she could after receiving her diagnosis. Jim Tracy, the subject of the film "Running for Jim," was a runner and coached a high-school cross-country team at the time of his diagnosis.
