EPA nominee says regulations don't have to stifle economy

A Senate confirmation hearing last week for Gina McCarthy, President Barack Obama's nominee to head the Environmental Protection Agency, largely focused on climate change and the extent of the agency's regulatory authority. McCarthy said EPA would take "common-sense steps" on regulation of carbon emissions while supporting economic growth.
