FCC shouldn't make ad-funding disclosure rules, Republicans say

More than a dozen Republican senators have written to the Federal Communications Commission to urge the agency not to pass rules requiring funding sources in political ads. The move is a response to a request for such disclosure by Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. The GOP senators say that if the FCC were to intervene in the issue, it would "weigh in on a partisan political dispute" and step outside its authority.
