GE and Quirky will develop consumer products through the crowd

General Electric will license hundreds of patents to Quirky's community of inventors in the hope of producing consumer products through the crowdsourcing process. "This is not an academic exercise. We're looking to make money out of this, Quirky will make money out of this, and hopefully the inventors will, too," said Mark Little, GE's global research senior vice president.
