HHS enhances proposed budget for HIT programs in 2014

HHS' proposed fiscal 2014 budget would give an overall boost to federal spending for health IT initiatives if approved. The ONC's operational budget would reach $78 million next year, compared with $61 million this year, under the new budget. Meanwhile, HIT spending within the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality would stay at $26 million.
