Maine hermit is suspected of hundreds of burglaries

Police in central Maine have detained a man who they say has been living in the wilderness as a hermit for 27 years, returning to civilization only to raid campgrounds for crucial supplies. Christopher Knight -- known locally as the "North Pond Hermit" -- is believed to have conducted more than 1,000 burglaries over the years, stealing only the food and other basics needed for living in the woods.
