Report sheds light on progress in fight against cancer

The American Cancer Society released a report highlighting significant progress made by the U.S. in its fight against cancer, including continued declines in smoking rates, particularly among high-school students. The report also showed that more young women have received the human papillomavirus vaccine, while mammogram rates remained relatively stable. "We're making progress, but we need to keep an eye on the needle to see where the whole front of risk factors is," ACS' Vilma Cokkinides said.
