Sun employed to squeeze more energy out of natural gas

A new system that captures solar energy and turns it into a chemical form enhances the energy output of natural gas. A 20% efficiency gain is possible with the system, which uses the sun's heat to rearrange the gas' molecules. Testing is scheduled for this summer by researchers at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Wash.
