Cable standing its ground in battle with DBS

The top cable operators lost about 200,000 overall subscribers between the fourth quarter of 2002 and the fourth quarter of 2003, compared with a 2.3 million gain for satellite, but cable's digital service kept pace with DBS during the same period, according to a Broadband Daily report. Cable remains far ahead of satellite in terms of per-subscriber revenue, data show.
