Cash flow is king for small-business owners

Maintaining solid cash flow is even more important for small businesses now that customers may be taking longer to pay -- and suppliers are looking to be paid sooner. Many business owners have adopted more conservative strategies and have cut back on luxury spending. The National Federation of Independent Business and business owners have seven recommendations that can help maintain cash flow, including reviewing cash flow, accounts receivable and inventory daily or weekly, and investing to reduce fixed costs.
