Report: Major vendors dominate EMR market, other firms gain ground

Although the ambulatory electronic medical records market remains dominated by Allscripts, NextGen and eClinicalWorks, physician practices and hospitals planning to buy EMRs in the next two years are considering other vendors such as e-MDs and Greenway, a KLAS report says. The report also said that a number of providers are replacing their certified EMRs, which indicates that "having a certified product is not going to guarantee success," according to the report's author.
