Ethanol, biodiesel sales rose in Iowa last year, agency says

Sales of ethanol blends accounted for more than 82% of all fuel sales in Iowa last year, according to the state Department of Revenue. About 95% of filling stations in the state that offer ethanol blends sold more of them than conventional fuels, the agency said. The state also sold 13.9 million gallons of biodiesel in 2011, up from 7.4 million gallons in 2010.
