Proposal to delay ICD-10 by one year gets mixed reaction

A CMS proposal to push back the ICD-10 compliance deadline to Oct. 1, 2014, has elicited mixed reaction from the industry. Marie Watteau of the American Hospital Association said the proposed delay was welcome news, particularly for smaller facilities. Robert Tennant of the Medical Group Management Association, however, argued that the delay doesn't address underlying issues in the current implementation process.
