The American College of Physicians and the Federation of State Medical Boards have urged physicians to be more aware of their online interactions to maintain professionalism and regulate patient-physician communication. The agencies said they do not completely discourage doctors from interacting online, but want to offer best practices and standards for physicians conduct online. The policy paper was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
