Health plan weight-loss benefits get support from overweight adults

A study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine showed 83% of overweight adults said specific weight-loss benefits provided by health plans would be helpful but two-thirds of these people said they were not willing to pay extra for such benefits. Researchers also found patients with private insurance were more likely than those who had other insurance types to endorse any weight-loss benefits as helpful.
