Report: Trained cleaning team, daily disinfection best for C. diff.

Having a dedicated and properly trained cleaning staff disinfect hospital rooms daily significantly improved eradication of Clostridium difficile bacteria, researchers at Case Western Reserve University reported in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. The study looked at results from using a trained cleaning team and a standardized process that included fluorescent markers and automated ultraviolet radiation units to evaluate surfaces for bacteria.
