Stillbirth, diabetes raise VTE risk in pregnant women

A history of stillbirth and other comorbidities including obesity, preexisting diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease were associated with increased risk of venous thromboembolism in pregnant women, British researchers found. Women with a history of stillbirth were at greater risk of postpartum venous thromboembolism. The results appear in the journal Blood.
