Gas drillers take part in online registry of fracking chemicals

Chesapeake Energy, Devon Energy and XTO Energy are among the companies working to disclose hydraulic fracturing chemicals on, a website run by the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission and the Groundwater Protection Council. The website shows that drillers are exercising transparency about fracking, Republicans said during a Senate committee hearing. "If we can have that type of transparency, then maybe we wouldn't need the federal government and one-size-fits-all type of regulation," said Jeff Cloud, vice chairman of oil-and-gas regulator Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
