Treasury nears a decision on regulation of forex swaps

The Treasury Department is "very close" to deciding whether it will force foreign exchange swaps and forwards onto trading platforms or exempt them from the Dodd-Frank Act, said Assistant Treasury Secretary Mary J. Miller at a Senate hearing. Dodd-Frank regulations are meant to increase oversight of the over-the-counter derivatives market.
