Al Gore's Current TV influenced by Canadian show

When Current TV, Al Gore's venture into user-created cable TV, debuts in August, it will owe much to "ZeD," an experimental late-night show in Canada. The three-year-old program from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation mixes amateur movies submitted through a Web site with professional content -- the same idea proposed by Current TV.
