TV stations are tapping mobile, social media for ads, promotions

TV stations are using text messaging and social media to drive new business to their advertisers and to boost participation in contests and other promotions, said panelists at the "Screens: Internet and Mobile Money Makers" session at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. The key to new-media success is to take a multiplatform approach by incorporating texts and e-mail blasts with on-air ads and direct mailers, panelists said.
