Calif. utility agrees to invest $250M in Montana wind project

San Diego Gas & Electric has agreed to invest $250 million in NaturEner's 309-megawatt wind project in Montana, said Bill Alexander, chief development officer of NaturEner. Electricity from the wind farm is expected to help SDG&E meet California's 33% renewable-energy requirement for utilities by 2020. The deal needs the approval of California and federal regulators before it can be finalized.
