Shoppers spend more on dinnerware to entertain at home

Almost half the respondents to a recent survey said they are entertaining at home as much or more this year than they have in years past, spurring sales of casual dinnerware items. Gift sales in the dinnerware category fell last year, while sales of non-gift items rose 3%, according to a report from The NPD Group.
