AEC's Coleman: Anti-ethanol bill would hurt advanced biofuels

President Barack Obama's 2014 budget proposal does not contain details on how the government intends to raise money for research and development of advanced biofuels and alternative fuel vehicles. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., is proposing capping the percentage of ethanol in the U.S. fuel mix and repealing the federal standard for ethanol. Advanced Ethanol Council Executive Director Brooke Coleman says that although Goodlatte speaks out against corn-based ethanol, his proposal would stifle the development of advanced biofuels.
