M&T acquisition is ensnared in regulator concerns

M&T Bank's plan to buy Hudson City Bancorp will be delayed after the Federal Reserve expressed concerns about M&T's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, the companies said. M&T said it hired a consulting firm to address the Fed's reservations about its anti-money laundering efforts. M&T had agreed to pay $3.7 billion for Hudson City.
