Southwest CEO: We won't add jobs in 2010

Because of "significant cost challenges" triggered by fuel prices and a difficult operating environment, Southwest Airlines won't be doing any hiring this year. CEO Gary Kelly said Southwest saw its revenues improve this spring but that the Dallas-based carrier is still working on its bottom line. "We're trying to reduce our total employment through attrition, and that's what's occurring so far this year, so no plans to hire in 2010," Kelly said.
