Vilsack: Neb., Iowa are role models for Obama's low-carbon future

Nebraska and Iowa's robust renewable-energy industries make them models for the kind of economic development that President Barack Obama envisions for the U.S., said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. The states lead in U.S. ethanol production, and Iowa ranks second in wind-power generation. "In a sense, that corner of Iowa and over into eastern Nebraska is a sort of a prototype for what we're talking about in terms of revitalizing this economy," Vilsack said.
