Data drive efforts for better, lower-cost health care

Insurers are working to identify patients who will incur high medical costs, and pharmacy benefit managers are developing programs to monitor treatment adherence. Health care providers, meanwhile, use data to determine the likelihood of hospitalization among patients and to enhance preventive care.
