Students may learn many lessons from gaming

Video games -- even those meant to entertain -- can be educational, writes Louie Herr. He adds that students can learn valuable lessons in typing, economics, physical education and leadership through games such as World of Warcraft. Other games, such as Oregon Trail, offer lessons in history, and Minecraft can teach engineering, he notes. The Mass Effect games and others also teach moral and ethical lessons, he adds.
