Enercon's wind turbine installations grew to about 3.5GW last year

Germany-based Enercon's global wind turbine installations last year increased to about 3.5 gigawatts from 3.2GW in 2011, with the firm's operating performance rising to $5.1 billion. Enercon's solid performance last year, possibly affected by various factors, such as the company's decision to avoid the U.S. market because of uncertainty regarding the wind-energy Production Tax Credit renewal, this analysis shows. Enercon also experienced continued business in Germany, where the firm focuses its operations for the long term, the analysis adds.
