Insurance execs, president meet to discuss ACA

President Barack Obama, along with HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, met with health insurance company executives including AHIP President and CEO Karen Ignagni to discuss insurance premiums under the Affordable Care Act and efforts to bring people into the law's marketplaces. The industry has warned that rates will rise as insurers are required to offer more benefits under new restrictions. The Obama administration says that warnings of rate shock ignore the effects of a larger proportion of young, healthy consumers entering the market.
