Intensive insulin therapy does not influence cardiac parameters in diabetes

Type 1 diabetes patients who either had intensive or conventional insulin therapy did not show differences in cardiac parameters including end diastolic and systolic volumes, stroke volumes and aortic distensibility at 15 years, a study in Diabetes indicated. However, researchers said prior glycemic exposure appeared to affect cardiac function in patients.
