Longer gestation tied to higher developmental scores in term babies

U.S. researchers looked at 1,562 term babies and found that every additional week of pregnancy was linked to a slight increase in mental and psychomotor scores at age 1. Although differences in development scores were very small, the findings, published in the journal Pediatrics, could not be explained by chance.
