Physicians jump ahead of hospitals in ACOs, analysis shows

Physician-led accountable care organizations now outnumber hospital-led ACOs, according to an analysis presented at the American College of Physicians annual meeting. Experts said that while hospitals can face revenue loss through reduced admissions, physicians can add revenue by using the ACO model and treating more patients in their offices instead of visiting them in the hospital.
