Can zombies help students learn geography?

Zombies are popular -- so Washington state humanities teacher David Hunter has developed a comic book and extensive teaching materials based on more than 70 learning standards and is centered on the zombie apocalypse. Students, who say they love the class and their teacher, are challenged to come up with a plan for relocating away from the zombies to survive. "Students have to create a project that outlines where they would choose to settle based on the physical characteristics, like the landforms and the climate," Hunter said.
