Fruits, vegetables can create a detox diet, RD says

A detox diet to cleanse the body of environmental toxins can be as simple as eating at least five cups daily of fruits and vegetables that break down into detoxifying enzymes, registered dietitian Sheah Rarback writes. She notes that functional medicine expert Dr. Robert Roundtree recommends cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli because they contain sulphoraphane. Berries, grapes and beets also are a good choice, along with green tea.
