How to cheaply employ older workers

Companies with older workers can reduce health costs by improving workplace ergonomics and by requiring that those workers who drive on the job undergo annual safety screenings, Karen Klein writes. In some cases, older workers may be willing to work for lower pay because they've accepted severance packages or early retirement from previous employers. "Older workers can be a huge bargain," author Ted Fishman says.
