Immigration bill would limit offshore outsourcing

A compromise immigration bill unveiled this week includes many provisions that the technology industry has pushed for, including a new visa for entrepreneurs and faster green cards for foreigners who attend U.S. universities. The bill also seeks to "crack down" on the use of H-1B visas to outsource American jobs, according to a summary of the bill. "From my read of it, it has Silicon Valley with protections for American workers, if indeed all of this is eventually passed," said Neil Ruiz of the Brookings Institution.
