Light drinking while pregnant may not harm child's development

U.S. researchers tracked about 10,500 U.K. children and found that those whose mothers consumed one or two drinks per week while pregnant were not at greater risk of having mental disorders at age 7. Although not statistically significant, the study showed a slightly lower prevalence of behavioral problems among children born to light drinkers compared with those born to mothers who never drank. The findings appear in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
